Robert Gabalsk, AIA is a partner with over 35 years of experience. Robert focuses on master planning, renovations, and additions to library, municipal, recreation and public and community buildings. He is experienced in all phases of the design and construction process.
Throughout the course of his career, Bob has developed a passion and specialty in the field of historic preservation. He has a keen sensitivity to successfully assess and understand the unique challenges in the process of ensuring an existing structure is preserved, restored, and if required, suitable for adaptive re-use. He has a rich history of working with New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and brings significant knowledge to the firm’s historic preservation and restoration projects.
Robert directs and manages historic preservation projects requiring compliance with the Secretary of the Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties including the preparation of Historic Structures Reports and applications for listings on State and National Historic Registers.
Bob brings his skills to project design, firm management, staffing, client account management, sustainable design and specifications. He has worked on award-winning projects, such as the historic Cropsey Barn restoration in Rockland County, NY.
